Went to Riddles Creek for the Candlebark horsetrials today. Whilst it rained a little at my place overnight it must have bucketed down here as the place was a swamp. Occy was standing up to his fetlocks in water whilst tied up next to the float. The yard I put up for him would have been a bit drier, but still...
The dressage arenas were a bit better but still had ruts up the long side and the center. Occy coped ok in trot but struggled with the footing even with studs. The arenas were moved a little for each section which didn't help me being near the end of my section.
But the showjumping went well. Nicely forward (with a few words of encouragement from me) and clear. Happy with that.
Never did see any of the Crosscountry as that part was cancelled due to the conditions and the event was turned into a combined training, which also meant we got to go home instead of camping out with the frogs. Regards Walter
